002. Helium

    • Within the Periodic Table Helium is a chemical element with symbol 'He' and atomic number 2. It is the lightest element in the universe. It is a noble gas, named for the Greek god of the sun ἥλιος, Helios. It was first detected as an unknown yellow spectral line signature in sunlight during a solar eclipse in 1868.
